One of the biggest reasons clients choose a local security company is the flexibility in product selection.
Bigger companies that provide services to larger areas narrow their product line (and rightfully so! -It’s just good business sense). This helps build an easier to operate a business: reduced training costs for employees/salespeople, streamlined processes for office staff and focused marketing.
The trade off is that the company cannot offer more than a few products in an industry filled with innovative technology. The salespeople will have a limited toolset to solve your security problems; You will have few options to choose from.

It can also take Super Slo-mo videos of my dog catching a treat. These are the types of hard, real world examples that make me scrutinize phone specs for months before I get a new phone (Maybe I have a problem?).
Like cell phones, security products solve real world problems. My Acusense driveway camera will reliably alert me and turn on a strobe light if someone comes near my vehicle after midnight. My alarm will notify me if my office isn’t disarmed (opened) by 8:15 AM. My alarm can extend out wirelessly for up to 2KM to cover hard to reach and detached areas.
I’ll give you another real world example.

This keypad is one of the best looking and user friendly hardwired touchscreen keypads made for a professional-grade alarm system. However, this system is only capable of 2 partitions.
The DSC Neo alarm system is capable of 4 partitions and a stronger wireless technology but has a different experience and aesthetic.
A bigger company may not be able to offer the right product and you may not know there was a better solution.
