Why Choose a Hard-Wired Camera System?
“Do you install hardwired camera systems?” is a question people often ask us at Swift Security. And the answer is YES!
What is a hard-wired camera system? A hard-wired camera system is a system that is powered through a central recording device such as an NVR or DVR. The cameras are directly connected and powered form this device using cables such as Cate5 or Cate6.
There are many benefits to choosing a hard-wired cameras system over a wireless camera system, however, both have their benefits and place in security surveillance.
No Monthly Fees
With hard wired cameras, your video footage is stored directly on the recorder and you can access this by directly going to the recorder or viewing it from our free app. With some of the wireless cameras, you are required to pay a cloud fee for each camera in order to access the recorded footage. This can lead to expensive bills, especially if you have several cameras in your home or business.
Higher Resolution
The cameras are directly plugged into the recorder which allows us to install 4MP and 4K cameras. With higher resolution from these cameras, you can cover a larger area with greater detail.
Direct Connection
With a hard-wired camera system, you’ll never have to worry about a camera losing communication with the cloud or Wi-Fi. The cameras are always plugged in and recording so you never loose footage!
